DAY 1: THE POVERTY GOSPEL LIE
For decades, the church has taught that poverty equals holiness. That wanting wealth is worldly. That financial struggle proves spiritual devotion.
None of that is biblical.
The poverty gospel distorts Scripture just as much as the prosperity gospel does. Both miss what God actually says about money, stewardship, and multiplication.
Here's what's true:
God designed you to create value and multiply resources. Genesis 1:28 - "Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it." That's not just about having kids. It's about productivity, expansion, and dominion.
Proverbs 10:4 - "Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth." God rewards work. He blesses multiplication. He opposes waste and passivity.
Jesus praised the servants who multiplied talents (Matthew 25). He condemned the one who buried his and returned exactly what he started with.
Your assignment: Identify one poverty gospel belief you've absorbed. Write it down. Tomorrow, we'll dismantle it with Scripture.
